A lot of our problems right now in the world are being caused by those in power with limitless greed, forcing their desires upon the rest of society. It's the reality of the situation and for those who feel they do have power, but are not doing anything to cause harm, by doing nothing you are relinquishing your own power to someone else. Power does not mean anything if it is not acted upon, if it is not being used to benefit society, then when society is being harmed, but that power does nothing to work against the harm, it becomes a part of the problem. It becomes power that does not believe it is part of society, it is power that is separate from Humanity and we are all Humanity.
Now back to the question. There is a lot we cannot impact, but we all do have power, we always have power over ourselves, if we relinquish our own power, do we not become then a tool for the one that dictates our actions. Our power has to go somewhere, to someone's idea of tomorrow. If you do not agree with that power of tomorrow, use your own power to shape what you can. This is where it does not need to be anything large, all you need to do is live how you believe an individual should in your ideal world. If you had all of the power, how would you want all to behave? Embrace that yourself. Humanity will not change if we all see ourselves as unable to contribute in any way to it. When we become one who sees the harms being done to Humanity, but steps aside because it is not their issue. You are a part of Humanity and if Humanity is treating Humanity poorly, then you exist on both sides.
Those of us who only have power over ourselves may not be able to do much in the grand scheme of things, but look towards those small actions that you can make. Food prices soaring, can you get involved or help start a public garden? Can we reclaim the power over our basic needs? When we as individuals have given most of our power to those who control our basic needs, our power becomes a tool for those who control them. We have to search to reclaim that and even if it is not feasible to then work towards other social change. Again it does not need to be large. are you feel isolated and alone? Walk down the street and greet people. I was saddened today when I went for a walk at lunch and out of the fifty people I passed, maybe one made eye contact with me. I do not want to live in a world where we refuse to recognize one another, so I made sure to say "Hello" and even if they didn't look up or had earphones in, I at least was living how I want others to exist in this world alongside me. It could be a head nod, or if you have some connections and resources, help contribute to a local event that you can get behind.
None of this is easy, no one has any extra energy it feels like right now, but these are the small changes that you can make that can create change. You are not alone, you are a part of the whole that is Humanity. At this moment, we are Ouroboros, we are the snake that eats itself whether we want to or not and when we stand aside because we are not the one doing the eating, we are still a part of the snake and eventually we will either be eaten, no matter how close to the head or we will stop the snake that is Humanity from eating itself.
